Through the development and pilot implementation of improved natural resource management training modules and curriculum, New Course is working to strengthen educational outcomes as well as life and livelihood skills for women and girls in post-conflict areas of Northern Uganda and Eastern DRC.
We are working with local partners to assess the educational needs of women and girls in post-conflict situations (refugee camps, recently returned and displaced persons) related to natural resource management. Using this needs assessment, New Course is developing a natural resource management curriculum and modules, targeted for young women and girls, within the context of post-conflict situations. To ensure the training is translated into action, New Course is working with the Pader Girls Academy staff and students to pilot the NRM training modules and refine them to ensure that they meet the needs of students. Finally, New Course is also strengthening existing women and girls groups supported by the Pader Academy by providing leadership and NRM module trainings.
